New Clients
Welcome to the NAH family! We are so glad you found us. Â
As a locally-owned animal hospital group serving Alachua County since 1990, we can understand how much research you have done to find the very best veterinarian for your family. We don’t take this decision lightly, and are extremely grateful that you have chosen us for your pet’s care.
Prior to Visit
To ensure your pet’s first visit goes as smoothly as possible, there are a few things we request from you beforehand:
-
Please fill out our New Client Form prior to your appointment. This helps us build your client and patient profile before you arrive.
-
Bring any adoption paperwork, vaccine history, & medical records from previous veterinarians, or upload these documents before submitting your New Client Form. (There is an option at the end of the form for document upload.) This information helps ensure there is no lapse or overlap in what medical care your pet received prior to this visit.
-
Know your pet’s current medications & dosages (including heartworm, flea, & tick prevention!) as well as their current food and any supplements they get.
-
If your pet is experiencing any stomach issues, diarrhea, or has not had a fecal test within the past 6 months, we ask that you please bring along a fresh stool sample from your pet to your visit. This sample should be collected within an hour or 2 before your visit.
We do request that all pets remain on leash or in a cat carrier when entering our hospitals. Feel free to bring some of their favorite treats or toys along! As a courtesy, we ask that all pet parents arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time. If you are running late or cannot make your appointment, please give us a call immediately.
What to Expect
Your pet’s first visit is all about us getting to know you and your pet so that we can best meet your needs. At your first visit, our team will be ready to answer any specific questions or concerns that you have about your pet’s health. In addition, your veterinarian will also examine them to get an idea of their general health, as well as to identify any potential abnormalities like skin issues, heart murmurs, or mobility issues. To learn more about what is covered during your pet’s exam, visit here.

We have 4 locations to serve you and your pet! Give us a call or fill out our New Client Form to schedule a visit at the NAH location that is most convenient for you.

Also, we want you to know that we are proud to offer pet acupuncture at all of our locations! Our 39th Avenue location also offers a larger variety of integrative therapies, such as laser therapy and herbal supplements, performed by veterinarians trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. If you would like your pet to be seen by a Holistic vet, please let us know when scheduling, so we can ensure your pet’s treatment plan meets your lifestyle.
